3 of 12 Taxol Treatments: Back on Track

3 of 10 Taxol Treatments Done! Great news I was cleared again for chemo today and am back on track! Here are the highlights:

• 8:00 AM – PortWeight – Finally down 4lbs!! I’m wondering if it takes 2 weeks to get the steroid out, so some of that came from steroids and some was getting back on my eating. We’re trying the Keto diet. It is a bit complicated, but it’s been working for people I know (who look amazing) and Shawn is doing it, so if he cooks it I’ll eat it.
• • Port – We’re switching the tape we’re using to secure the port. It started it irritate me, but other than that. it went swimmingly
• 8:20 AM– Dr. M Got to see Dr. M again today. He’s good people.Blood Panels – they look great today. I went from .63 to 2.63 and all my blood cell counts bounced back – woohoo!
• • I told him I’m feeling great! My cough and ear infection are gone finally.
  • I mentioned some light chest pain yesterday which has subsided, Dr. thinks it was just some inflammation in my chest. He wasn’t concerned.
  • Nails – I do have some Taxol toe nails happening – so I’m trying to increase my icing during the session. I’m including a picture – because I mean hey, I can’t make this look too glamorous 😊And it’s nothing a little polish can’t fix…

  • • Travel – still clear to travel at my discretion
    • Dosage – He said he wants to stick with the full dosage of Taxol for now, and see how I do over the next 2 weeks. I asked if I needed to do anything or take anything, and he said there’s nothing I can do different.
• 8:45 AM – Got to Infusion CenterPicked out the shady corner chair. It took a while to get started today – didn’t actually begin until 9:20 was done by 10:45.

• 11:00 AM – AcupunctureGreat session with David – he reassured me the missed week and lighter dosage are just as effective. Also got a nap in.

Overall it was a good day! I even got some walking in, and hit my 10k steps. I was also on target with my dieting. So I’m feeling good. Now I just need to get you my other posts – genetics and plastics!  Also a shout out to Sara, Jonathan and Sienna for a fabulous dinner and play date!
