Ok I just got word that the CT scan I took yesterday was clear. “No visible signs of cancer.” They scanned my chest and abdomen. This means I’m cleared for surgery which is scheduled for Thursday, 9/19 with Emory.
I’m now in a 3 week period of recovery from chemo. I have one more Zarxio shot tomorrow and then I’m treatment free. I’m assuming by Friday my WBC count will be back up to normal and next week I should be well on my way to normal levels.
Other than that, I’m still eating Vegan/Fish/Low Sugar and I have Physical Therapy (PT) each week. Yesterday’s PT was great. She gave me new stretches to do and said I have made a lot of progress in my arm flexibility since last time (which is great to hear since I’ve only been sporadic about doing the stretches).
So I’ve crossed a big hurdle today with the good news. Next big checkpoint is getting “clear margins” with the 9/19 surgery!
That is great news!!!
Love Grandpa
